Palm Treo 750 Review
Rating: 8.0 / 10
The truth is that there is no way to stay ahead of technology. Just when you think you have all of your friends and family beat with the latest gizmo or machine, you find that there is something newer out there. Anyone who bought the Palm 680 now knows what I mean. The 680 seemed to be brilliant, but then Cingular came up with another device. The new Palm Treo 750 is the creation of a Palm and Cingular partnership that gives a product to the customer that wants it all.
The Treo 750 has many of the same features that other Treo phones have such as access to the Internet, touchless keypad system and a 1.3 MP camera. Users are able to download songs, check e-mail and listen to music while organizing their daily regimes. None of these features set the Treo 750 apart from other PDA phones, but it is the details of those features that make this all-in-one phone appealing.
Some examples of the detailed features are the main menu screen, the message system and music system. The main menu screen has a way to dial by name, run an Internet search and launch your browser, allowing searches through Google all without having to navigate through the menu. By allowing all of these options on the home screen or "Today" screen, you can save time by going right to the option that you want. The message system has some great features that you cannot find anywhere but on the Treo 750. You can now rewind messages instead of having to hear the entire message again. You can also ignore people with inserting a text in their phone like "I'm busy" with the "Ignore with text" button. Lastly, there is a music option that lets you download music immediately and take it with you. You may also use the stereo Bluetooth headphones if you want.
Other than some elaborate details worked into the old features, the Palm Treo 750 is a lot like its competitors. The cell phone has not come out for purchase and will not be released until sometime in February 2007. The price of the Treo will be $399 after sending in your $100 rebate and signing a two-year contract. The monthly plans start at $44.99 a month for the basic telephone service. If you want to include Internet, you will pay the monthly fee that is provided by your Internet Service Provider. If you want to synchronize your professional and personal email, you will need to subscribe to Cingular's PDA Connect plan with a price of $49.99 a month unlimited or $39.99 a month for 4 MB's worth of use. There is also a Cingular voice plan that starts at $39.99 a month.
With all of these features, the Palm Treo 750 may be just the phone for you or it may be a little too complex for your purposes. Regardless, there is an infinite market for the features of the Palm Treo 750 and no end to the possibilities of where this magical little phone can take you. Without a doubt, the Palm Treo 750 will lead the future in cell phone features and benefits.
