LG VX9400 Review
Rating: not yet rated
If you are thinking about purchasing the LG VX9400 cell phone by Verizon Wireless, you should know that you are looking for trouble. Remember when video games first came onto the scene and people were unable to peel themselves away from the screen and live their lives? The LGVX9400 is comparable to the old school video games with its multitasking capabilities, but unless you are technologically savvy or in need of being connected to the world at all times, this may not be the phone for you.
Verizon released the LG VX9400 with the intention of having some of the most up-to-date technology possible. Access to VCAST music and video, Get It Now and Mobile Web 2.0 are all marketable features that come already equipped with this cell phone. The user is able to take calls, receive messages and then go right back to whatever program they were accessing when they are done. Using this phone is like taking a phone call while watching television. You can also tap into the navigational device and find directions to the nearest Starbucks or ATM machine at the touch of a button.
The only catch to this phone is that it is not available for consumers yet. The release date is unknown, but many speculate that they will be available for purchase before the end of March of this year. Verizon is starting to feel the pressure of giving too much information out with too little product to test, so the result for new buyers or potential LG VX9400 customers is the lack of reviews beyond aesthetic comparisons.
The general rumor consensus and critique is that even though the phone professes to have all sorts of powers, it is still small, thin and easy to carry around without feeling like you are towing a brick in your pocket. The bottom of the phone pulls out, letting the user answer a call quickly while in the middle of playing a game or watching television. The screen swivels out to the side so that you can watch the television on a mini screen instead of half of the picture being shown longitudinally. The one drawback is the abnormally large antenna that accompanies this new wave phone.
There is no doubt that there will be a substantial market for this type of cell phone. There are the gadget wizards out there that want to have the latest and the greatest the second it steps into the spotlight. However, there is no word on how much that this will cost the average phone talker, so if your budget is a little less dramatic, you may want to consider a more simple cell phone. There are very few arenas where this phone will be logical and you don't want to sink all of your money into showing off useless toys. Make sure that this phone is going to be an extra and not a rival for your mortgage before you invest.
